Where do I even start when it comes to Palo Azul and all that it has to offer? First, let's talk a little about its history and origins, and then I'll briefly discuss some of its benefits. The Aztecs in the Nahuatl language called what we call now Palo Azul or kidney wood, tlapalezpatli, which means "blood-tincture medicine. Its potent benefits are known to stand out. Palo Azul is a small shrub that is native to Northern and Central Mexico, as well as Arizona. The bark of the Palo Azul tree is used to make tea, which is known for its distinctive blue color. The tea is said to have many health benefits, including:

  • Anti-inflammatory properties for joint pain and arthritis

  • Diuretic properties to help detoxify the body

  • Aid digestion

  • Support kidney health.

  • Support digestive regularity.

  • Support blood sugar balance.

  • Pain management

And these statements are truly remarkable. In the region of what we referred to as MesoAmerica, the ancients relied on this mythical herbal shrub, as well as many modern herbalists, naturalists, and those who really know what's up!

Around the time the Spaniards and other Europeans came to the Americas during the late 15th century, Palo Azul was highly Coveted as many explorers began writing about the amazing healing properties and beautiful radiating blue color radiating through a glass of Palo Azul tea, it was truly a treasure that was exported back to Europe, but sadly shortly after many Europeans began to over look the shrub and remained unidentified by many Spanish physicians during the 17th century, Palo Azul has an extensive history and for those who continue to respect the benefits and quality for all that it has to offer you will not only feel the difference but can rely on now what modern research and studies actually provide that the ancients had an extensive understanding and relationship with Palo Azul, all you need is to boil 3 pieces of bark per 2-4 cups of water(spring water recommended) for 10 minutes and let it steep at least another 5 minutes and watch the Azul color shine bright through the amber tea in a clear mug ,mason jar, or thick walled glass cup. Palo Azul doesn't have any overpowering flavor to it, just a subtle earthy tone leaving no aftertaste, so it's perfect to add your favorite "herbal roots" tincture to boost whatever benefits you're trying to receive from your wellness plan as you go throughout your day. The best part is you can drink 2-3 times a day which will alkalize your body and you experience a true sense of wellbeing; what the ancients called medicine doesn't always have to leave a bad taste in your mouth. Cheers!
